Validation of acquired experience serves as a mechanism enabling individuals, irrespective of their age, educational background, or professional status, to have their accumulated experience formally recognized for the purpose of obtaining professional certification. A minimum of one year of relevant experience pertaining to the content of the desired certification is required. This process facilitates the attainment of professional bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degrees through the French VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) system.
The VAE (Validation of Acquired Experience) process enables individuals to obtain, either fully or partially, a diploma, title, or professional qualification certificate listed in the National Directory of Professional Certifications. Candidates are required to complete a dossier in which they detail the principal activities they have undertaken, the contexts in which these activities were performed, and the resources utilized. This dossier is subsequently evaluated, followed by an interview with a jury. The jury then determines whether to grant full or partial validation of the desired diploma. In cases of partial validation, the jury provides recommendations to the candidate to facilitate the attainment of the complete diploma.
